Stephen Gann
Life Coach & Emerging Writer

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Stephen R. Gann, emerging author and certified professional coach. When not writing, I work with other writers by ‘holding the space’ for them to realize their dream and goal of completion. As we all know, being accountable to ‘thine own self’ can be rather difficult at times. At other times, believing in what you are doing becomes the challenge. Words fade, thoughts become garbled and then that dreaded block appears.

By working with a me, my clients move through those barriers as if they were paper walls – with ease, grace and confidence. You have all the resources within you to be successful. I unlock them for you, so that block becomes a highway to success. I’ve been coaching for over seven years, have logged over 600 hours of paid coaching and currently an assistant trainer with Erickson College International: http://erickson.edu/, as well as a certified practitioner of NLP.

Now to writing!

I began my writing career almost nine years ago with fan fiction set within the World of Warcraft. Writing mainly on open forums, I brought characters I played to life by sharing their stories with others who played the game. By using the role play aspect of the game, I discovered characteristics that worked, learned how to build drama and how various interactions worked in a live, fantasy environment. Almost like laboratory for creative writing where immediate seen and felt feedback from other writers/players existed.

Once I had confidence in my ability to create dynamic characters, I moved into short story competitions (such as Writer’s Digest Genre Competitions) and finally into a novel. Which is where this entire blog picked up: the “Journey of a Thousand Pages” and all that may imply, Starting with a fantasy epic, it finally needed a break, as it almost broke me from writing.

I have moved into Romance – where my heart truly lies. ::insert wistful, passionate sigh::

As one author wrote on her blog:”Because love heals, redeems, empowers, transforms, delivers, forgives, and accepts. What more relevant and important subject is there to write about?” (I will credit her when I find the site again! 😀 )

Many of my fantasy readers have commented on how my stories contained many of the elements listed above. One story made a few people cry, and when certain characters were killed off, I received howls of protest and screams of, “Why?” Many suggested I write romance.

That makes me smile.

I write to share. Stories need to be told, and people’s lives need to be revealed to THIS world. I step into those worlds, meet those people and document their tales. I bring them back to you, lovely reader, to enjoy  and enter the world yourself. I create portals through which you may enter, wholly and completely – to live with the story I have brought forth.

First there is a thought, then there is the word. And then there is action. Through these things, we create reality; a reality of story.

Fair Winds and Following Seas, my lovely reader. Wherever your horizons beckon you…

A Clockwork Tiger

Castaways & Wreckage

There Will Be Funk

John Bradford’s Belt

From Darkness, Light

Of the five listed above, A Clockwork Tiger and John Bradford’s Belt are complete stories, with John Bradford being close to 30K words. The others are ongoing works that may or may not be completed. The Sanctum crashed two years ago and many more works were lost, including the backgrounds for many of the tales listed above. There were some amazing collaborations that disappeared into the nether – never to be seen again.

However, we have these. Enjoy! – srg
